David Pineiro was arrested following a months-long investigation, Suarez said. Police recovered four forearms and various illegal narcotics, valued at more than $50,000, Suarez said.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force searched Pineiro's Audubon Avenue apartment on Wednesday, June 7, seizing more than 20 ounces of cocaine, 14 ounces of heroin and over a pound of marijuana, Suarez said. They also found more than $25,000 in cash inside the apartment, Suarez said.
Prosecutors also searched Pineiro's vehicle on Monday, June 12, and recovered four firearms, Suarez said.
Pineiro was charged with possession with the intent to distribute to cocaine and heroin in the first degree, along with numerous other drug charges, Suarez said. He was also hit with charges of unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree, along with numerous other weapons charges, Suarez said.
Pineiro remains in custody at Hudson County Correctional Facility and is due back in court on Tuesday, June 20, Suarez said.
